Midnight Radio Story Submission Terms

Last updated: 30 October 2026

Thanks for sending your story to Raven. These terms apply when you submit a story to Midnight Radio through our website or by email. By submitting, you agree to them.

1. Who can submit

You must be 18 or older.

2. Your story must be yours

By submitting, you confirm that:

  • You wrote the story yourself and it's original
  • It wasn't written or generated using AI tools
  • You have the right to grant the licence below, and the story doesn't copy anyone else's work
  • It doesn't contain anything defamatory about real people, and you've changed or left out names and identifying details of anyone who hasn't agreed to be included
  • Any voice recording you send is your own voice, or you have permission from the person speaking

3. You keep ownership

You keep the copyright in your story. You're free to publish it or share it anywhere else.

4. The licence you give us

By submitting, you give Dean Smyth / The Midnight Mystery a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable and royalty-free licence to:

  • Adapt, edit, shorten, dramatise and rewrite the story for audio
  • Cast it with voice actors, including AI-generated voices, and add music and sound design
  • Use any voice recording you send in the episode
  • Publish, distribute and monetise the resulting episode on any platform, including podcast apps, Patreon, YouTube and any future format
  • Use short excerpts to promote the episode and the show

The licence also lets us pass these rights to platforms and partners as needed to distribute the episode. It continues even if you later publish the story elsewhere.

5. No obligation and no payment

We can't use every story, and we decide which stories to produce. We don't pay for submissions unless we agree otherwise in writing. Midnight Radio may receive stories with similar ideas from different people, or develop similar ideas ourselves; selecting or not selecting your story doesn't mean we've used your idea elsewhere.

6. Credit

If we produce your story, we'll credit you in the episode description under the name you give us. If you'd prefer to stay anonymous, say so when you submit.

7. Your data

We handle your name, email, story and any recording as set out in our Privacy Policy.

8. Law

These terms are governed by Spanish law. Disputes fall under the courts of Barcelona, Spain, unless consumer law gives you the right to use the courts where you live.
